Riverside’s Thaw and Obama’s Johnson Named MCC Student-Athletes of the Week (Sept. 22)

Daniel Thaw (Riverside Univ. High School) and Demius Johnson (Obama High School) were named the Milwaukee City Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 14-20. 

 

Midfielder Daniel Thaw, a 2023-24 second-team all-conference honoree, is once again proving his level of play with another stellar week on the pitch. The senior has been the driving force behind the Tigers’ offense, tallying four goals and three assists over their last two contests.

 

In Thursday’s victory over North Division, senior Demius Johnson dominated on both sides of the ball. The versatile playmaker secured eight catches for 126 yards, adding two touchdowns to his standout game. Defensively, Johnson played a vital role for Obama, recording six tackles and one interception to help carry the Cougars to a hard-fought 30-26 win.
