Riverside’s Quinonez and Reagan’s Romero Named MCC Student-Athletes of the Week (Oct. 13)

Elijah Quinonez (Riverside Univ. High School) and Ava Romero (Reagan High School) were named the Milwaukee City Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 5-11. 

Quinonez put forth a strong performance for Riverside last Friday, despite the Tigers falling short to Rufus King in a tight 26-22 contest. The junior threw for 93 yards, and tallied 124 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Over on the hard court, Romero capped off an unforgettable season, capturing the MCC championship at the top flight in singles tennis. The sophomore finished with a 15-8 record, establishing herself as a young leader for the Huskies.
